PAPS 2026: All New Cars Launched at Pakistan Auto Show (Prices & Details)

The Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 ran from 18 to 20 September at the Expo Centre in Lahore. It was the 21st edition of the show and had the theme "Make in Pakistan". Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif opened it, and the organisers say more than 300,000 people visited over three days. Brands such as BYD, Chery, Haval, Suzuki, JAC and Kaiyi used the show to launch or reveal new cars. Most of them were electric or hybrid.

This guide covers every important car shown at PAPS 2026, the prices that were officially announced, and what all this means if you are buying or selling a car in Shujabad, Multan or anywhere in South Punjab.

New cars launched at PAPS 2026 with prices

Three cars were launched at the show with official prices:

CarTypeLaunch price
Chery QElectric hatchback (EV)Rs 5,554,000
Suzuki Fronx GLX Hybrid ADASCompact SUV (new top variant)Rs 6,799,999
Haval H6 GT PHEVPlug-in hybrid SUVRs 12,949,000

Prices are launch prices reported at the show. Car companies change prices often, so check with the dealer before you book.

1. Chery Q – a small EV under Rs 56 lakh

The Chery Q is a fully electric hatchback. It got attention because of its price and because it can park itself. Chery also says the cabin is roomier than you would expect from its size. At about Rs 55.5 lakh it costs less than many petrol sedans. A small EV like this suits city driving, especially if you can charge at home.

2. Suzuki Fronx with ADAS

The Suzuki Fronx has already become a popular compact SUV in Pakistan. At PAPS 2026, Suzuki added a top variant with Level 1 ADAS (driver-assist safety features) and new seat upholstery, priced at Rs 6,799,999. Suzuki has the biggest dealer and parts network in the country, including small cities, which is one reason the Fronx is likely to keep good resale value.

3. Haval H6 GT PHEV

The H6 GT is the sportier, coupé-style version of the Haval H6. As a plug-in hybrid, it can run on battery power for daily trips and use petrol for long trips. At Rs 1.29 crore it competes with the premium SUV segment.

Other big reveals at PAPS 2026

BYD Sealion 6 – BYD's first car assembled in Pakistan

BYD announced that the Sealion 6 will be its first car assembled locally in Pakistan, with production targeted for Q4 2026. It uses BYD's Super DM-i plug-in hybrid system, with a claimed total range of up to 1,100 km. BYD also showed the ATTO 2 electric crossover, the SHARK 6 pickup (Anniversary Edition) and the luxury DENZA B8 SUV. Bookings made at the BYD stand during the show came with a free first-year service.

Kaiyi e-Qute 04 – compact city EV

Kaiyi, sold in Pakistan by Q-Autos, showed the e-Qute 04 electric hatchback. It is a five-seater offered with claimed ranges of 300 km and 400 km. The bigger version has a 39.8 kWh battery, and DC fast charging takes about 30 minutes from 30% to 80%. Pakistan-spec cars get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, and a home charger.

What PAPS 2026 tells us about the car market

  • Electric and plug-in hybrid cars are going mainstream. Most new models at the show were EVs or PHEVs, not plain petrol cars.
  • Local assembly is growing. BYD assembling the Sealion 6 here is a big step. Local assembly usually brings better parts supply and, over time, more stable prices.
  • Prices are still high. Most new launches cost Rs 55 lakh or more. For a lot of families that is out of reach, which keeps demand for good used cars strong.
  • Proven names still sell most. Even with all the new brands, the Suzuki Alto, Toyota Corolla, Honda City and Civic were still among the highest-selling cars in the first half of 2026.

Should you buy a new EV or a used car in South Punjab?

A new EV or PHEV can make sense if you mostly drive in the city, can charge at home and plan to keep the car for many years. For many buyers in Shujabad, Multan and nearby areas, a few practical questions still matter:

  • Service and parts: Is there an authorised workshop for this brand near you? Suzuki, Toyota and Honda have the widest networks in South Punjab.
  • Charging: Long load-shedding hours and the lack of public fast chargers on smaller routes are real issues for pure EVs.
  • Resale value: New brands do not yet have a used-market track record. Corolla, City, Civic and Alto are easy to sell again. Read our guide on cars with the best resale value in Pakistan.
  • Budget: A checked used Corolla, City or Cultus can cost a lot less than a new launch and still give years of reliable driving.
